Dec. 3rd, 2013 07:42 amPerhaps a heavy-handed sf satirist, trying to create a dystopia combining the worst of free enterprise and the state, might have imagined the grotesque idea of turning the prisons over to private companies. She might then have imagined a War on Some Drugs to support the industry. But could she have been sick enough to dream up a plot twist where the prisons sued the government for not arresting enough people?
