Back from Readercon; enjoyed it. What did I miss?

Making your employees fight amongst themselves instead of cooperating against the common foe is bad for business. Who’da thunk it?

Thanx to Making Light.

I strongly recommend Damien Broderick and Paul Di Filippo’s Science Fiction: The 101 Best Novels 1985-2010. They should have included Cryptonomicon instead of Cormac McCarthy’s grim Bat Durston book, but nobody’s perfect.

The Library of America is going to publish an excellent selection of ’50s SF (9 novels, 2 volumes) and they’ve got a page with essays on the books by nifty people (Peter Straub, Michael Dirda, Connie Willis, Kit Reed, et al.)
