I strongly recommend Damien Broderick and Paul Di Filippo’s Science Fiction: The 101 Best Novels 1985-2010. They should have included Cryptonomicon instead of Cormac McCarthy’s grim Bat Durston book, but nobody’s perfect.

Jul. 16th, 2012 07:14 pmThe Library of America is going to publish an excellent selection of ’50s SF (9 novels, 2 volumes) and they’ve got a page with essays on the books by nifty people (Peter Straub, Michael Dirda, Connie Willis, Kit Reed, et al.)
