Shakespeare made stupid
Sep. 6th, 2011 03:49 pmI am not making this up. Orson Scott Card has improved Hamlet. Gone of course is all that difficult Shakespearean prose. Gone, too, are all the complexities of Hamlet's motivation. What is the value added? A new explanation of what happened to the elder Hamlet: Horatio dunnit, for revenge. It seems that the old fellow was gay, so of course he molested the boy. I am not making this up.
I'm waiting for the one where that Muslim sumbitch Othello deserved to die.
