Multiply singular

When sf writers started talking about "the Singularity," some of us wondered if we hadn't had at least one already. (I wouldn't be entirely shocked if we turned out to have had a Rediscovery of Man.) Making Light presents a particularly interesting case for one past one, though I see no reason to assume we can't have another one in our future.
