The plucky granny menace

The Weekly World News of blessed memory used to run stories about "plucky grannies" fighting back against burglars and such. (One memorable one grabbed the perp by his testicles and hung on.) Perhaps these Oklahoma police get their information from such sources, and when facing a granny, knew that they had to take extreme measures.

I shouldn't post first thing in the morning. More awake, I now believe that the WWN used the alliterative phrase "gutsy grannies."

The church that dares not speak its name

But there was no banner for St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. Parishioners did march, but obeyed an order from New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan that they should not carry a banner with the church's name. The banner they carried was blank.
