Making a Statement

For instance, if I did not meet standards of neatness, I was showing contempt for the people or the venue, and I would be judged by my Statement. There's a part of me that still resents that, but these days I go along with the gag. There is, after all, a lot of truth in "the meaning of your communication is the response you get."
If you do an all-male anthology or Top 10 list, you are Making a Statement. If you really believe that the only worthy examples were by persons of the penile persuasion, go with it, but don't be surprised or indignant if you're judged by your statement.
