Sep. 15th, 2009 05:48 amA lot of people are posting about invisible illnesses. I have a lot of the usual stuff that comes with being over 60--asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure--but those are controlled. The one disability that bothers me the most is supposed to be invisible but isn't quite. I am hard of hearing, and I wear two small devices of the color that I hope we know enough not to call "flesh," one in each ear.
I HATE IT. I have to make people face me, and speak clearly, and often repeat things. Without wanting to, I have become a demanding person.
