Not stupid. Those who originated this crap are lying and know that they are lying. Some of those who repeat it probably halfway suspect the same, if they stop to think about it - which they probably do not.
It seems like the underlying agenda is vicious racism, with a side order of what they themselevs would do, given the opportunity, and just project onto others. And by "vicious racism" I don't just mean I desire to portray black people as bad - they want to keep blacks down at any and all costs.
