I stay away from politics, all the more so now. But this is about the British party, now Lib-Dems, not about all "liberals".

From my vantage point...

...liberals are centrists. They want to dismantle power and privilege to a point, but not the power and privilege that comes with wealth. They support capitalism and its inherent inequities and contradictions. Of course liberals abhor fascism, and that's one reason why socialists like myself vote for liberals when the choice is between liberals and conservatives. But we harbour no illusion that liberalism is left of center.
