Hate speech

To the adolescent mind (I know because I have one) there is something diabolically tempting about forbidden words, whether they begin with F or N. So I can sort of understand the kids who lost their Harvard acceptances for playing at being Internet assholes. But irony has always been the last refuge of a scoundrel and Internet culture is making it more of a successful one, so we probably need a deterrent like that.

Ugh, I have no sympathy for them. The Internet is part of the real world -- given this example of their deportment, what could Harvard expect of how they'd mesh with and treat the rest of their year mates, especially but not limited to the Latino ones?

Huh. My adolescent mind continues to enjoy the word fuck a great deal, and I'm fond of other blasphemous and scatalogical ejaculations. I rather doubt that it's some sort of comment on my great moral character that I never found racial slurs entrancing. I do use some fairly gendered insults, and have been reviewing that in my mind. I really wish "bitch" did not come so easily to the tongue. Not sure that substituting it with "cock" would be that much of an improvement, though.
