Still more reasons to dislike parts of Amazon's business model. Reminds me of Facebook, in that the users are the product and not the customer. Amazon people are measuring merely books sold or pages read and focusing on the customers rather than those important content providers.

They should probably have a programmer -- or at least a technical person -- working with the bots and QC notices. If the problem is a missing logical TOC, but the writer/content owner receives a different notice (TOC at the back), then maybe the bots are simply searching for "TOC" and sending out the first match?

Still, when you're focused on the short term ("bottom line") and not long term (actual quality control), that'll happen.

Oy.
