I think they're forgetting/overlooking people with ADD traits...like me. When I have a lot to do at once I don't even try to concentrate on one thing at a time. If I did a) I'd be miserable because it's almost like I'm designed to get distracted/start one thing, start another and b) I'm afraid I'd never get anything done, or else be able to but simply no longer want to (I guess because I'm a deadline junkie, too).

Not all brains are wired the same way. Now and then I pay a slight price in lack of focus and another in forgetting what the heck I accomplished, but it's usually quite a lot, which may well be why I can't always recall every last thing I got done (had that problem today: got a slew of things finished almost all at once, then, though I knew I'd worked on the last one, couldn't quite recall the last thing I did with it to call it finished).
