A theory of subcultures

Geeks, MOPs, and sociopaths. The Puppies think it would be a good thing if lots of MOPs voted on the Hugoes.

I dunno. The whole idea of MOPs seems aligned with the idea of fake geek girls. There's a lot of ways of being, and being fannish. I can see the idea of MOP's being seen as a dilution, when what looks like a MOP to one person may be someone coming to the fandom/subculture from a different angle or the merging of different randoms/subcultures. The category of the creator/fanatic here looks like a purity designation to me. And sociopath and capitalist seem to be conflated here, and as much as I dislike a lot about capitalism, I don't think the whole practice can be reduced to sociopathy. Not sure about this whole schema.
