Today's crankiness

The Web is full of cartoonists who should have competent people draw for them, just as Leonard Cohen's songs should be sung by actual singers, and someone should novelize Frank Herbert.

I like what Cohen does, how he used his limits to make the song more memorable. Also, as BB and I have mentioned to each other, having him as the center of the song allowed his back-up singers - and he consistently picks the best back-up singers ever (or at least in the history of singer-songwriter backup singers) - both to shine and to turn the song into something glorious.

We still chuckle at a Canadian comic's parody of Cohen's singing - as would Cohen, we suspect.

I think his voice has matured into something wonderful, but I really don't like his young voice.

Yep, notice my comment said nothing about "singing" per se.
