It begins, "Science fiction is a very male form of fiction," so of course nothing after that makes sense. Men do things, women have relationships, and real men don't want to read about anything but the former.
Let's see: Not gay (horrors!), but don't want female cooties characters in their media or any reminder that women exist other than sexually. They should be allowed out of their monastery, why?
I recently admitted that I dreamed of living in the science fiction where machines did all the maintenance. I think these guys wanted the sex done that way too.
Seriously, I peeked at that link from someone else's page and I had to use a bucket of brain-bleach just to get over it and help the next patron. BLARGH.
Whaaaaat? That makes no sense at all. Of course I don't watch TV any more, and Battlestar Galactica is one of the shite things I remember that don't make me miss it. But there are droves of women who were inspired in one way or another--including I daresay to careers in science--by Star Trek. And at least one sitting right in this chair who hated DS9 for all the relationship stuff and angsting. And some of us females were reading print SF before watching Star Trek, yes, I am that old. The fact that I don't like being groped at cons doesn't mean I don't exist.
Ah, Yes, That Bunch
