Some Republicans were saying that the Obama administration was plotting Death Panels. The rest of them didn't all agree, but they didn't seem terribly bothered. Now, however, Rep. Alan Grayson has said that the insurance company approach is "Don't get sick...and if you do get sick, die quickly," and the Republicans are shocked. The main difference I see between the two statements is that Grayson's is true. He points out that lack of adequate insurance can be blamed for almost 45,000 deaths a year. As Martha Koester said on Facebook, "If some foreign country killed that many Americans, it would be a radioactive cinder by now. Why do we allow insurance companies to do it?"

Small nitpick: it's Alan Grayson. (Luckily it wasn't Richard Grayson.)

Ffffft, it's okay because they're all poor people. Or weak. Because only weak people get sick, but only really, astoundingly weak people have the poor taste to get sick while not having the money or coverage to get treatment.
