Elders of Zion redux
Ezra Pound and Henry Ford, among others, believed that "Jew bankers" ran the world. That obviously breaks down into two assumptions. Many people noticed back then that the banks were not really run by "the Jews," and that remains true today, even though the biggest vampire squid is called Goldman Sachs. Adolf Hitler gave Jew hating a bad name, and most people are smart enough not to want to be accused of it. So The Wall Street Journal is now trying to pretend that anyone who distrusts the banks must think they are run by "the Jews." Charles Pierce cruelly mocks.

A Conspiracy So Vast
Sean Wilentz has warned that opposing the surveillance state is a diabolical libertarian plot. Henry Farrell doesn't think so.

Kennedy theory (evidence-free)
After the assassination, the FBI was called in. They didn't know who did it, but they suspected that some of their people might be involved, so they destroyed evidence, just to be on the safe side. The CIA was called in. They didn't know who did it, but they suspected that some of their people might be involved, so they destroyed evidence, just to be on the safe side. One or more other hush-hush government operations did likewise. So now we no longer have the means to demonstrate the connection between the killing and its true mastermind: Fidel Castro.

The wickedest man in the world
New theory that the curse of Tutankhamun was really ritual murders carried out by Aleister Crowley. It seems about as credible as the similar charges against Bill Clinton.

A conspiracy so vast
For me, the least arousing kind of sex fantasy is the one in which large numbers of THEM keep pumping out babies for unwholesome purposes: getting welfare, outnumbering us, etc. The new one is "birth tourism," in which large numbers of the enemy sneak into America to spawn. Brenda Daverin talks sense about that. I would add only that we shouldn't judge all anchor babies by Michelle Malkin.
