I don’t care what anyone says. I like it

But I also like “MacArthur Park” and pineapple on pizza. On Samuel R. Delany’s Dhalgren

I like all three of these things too. I even like Weird Al's take, "Jurassic Park"...

My first boyfriend introduced me to pineapple and Canadian bacon on pizza, and it while the relationship only lasted a couple of years, the fondness for that type of pizza has remained. (I also add regular bacon sometimes.)

I first hears of "MacArthur Park" in James Michener's book The Drifters, in which the viewpoint character was excoriating it. I like it as tune and word salad, but I can't really make any meaning out of it. Which may be its intended purpose, for all I know.

Which is to say, associations may have an awful to to do with preferences.
