Not arguing against the reverse engineering neuroqueers (I like that one) have to do, but a lot of these are differently understood across regions, generations, gender, and other differing language exposure. I remember a decade and a half ago getting used to millennials replying to "thank you" with "no problem" instead of my expected "you're welcome." It felt strange and dismissive to me. I'm pretty sure this was a generational and not a regional difference.
