This is extremely ironic, given that it was the Harvard B-school that heavily promoted the management theory that anybody with a B-school degree and a three ring notebook would be a better manager than someone promoted from the line. It was very thoroughly part of the management culture of the 1980s, and wreaked havoc. It was shockingly bad management, and places like fast food restaurants were especially enamored of it, which meant that us grunts at the lowest levels of the work force bore the brunt of the B-school onslaught. I have never, ever forgiven Harvard B-school for this, nor will I ever.
